Shea Homes

Shea homes has a rich history here in Arizona. They have a nice little video here that talks about how the company has been around since the late 1800s.

Not only has Shea been building homes in Arizona for many years, they have also been building homes all across the western United States. I believe one of the first homes my parents purchased in the 1970s was a Shea home.

My point is that you can feel comfortable that the company will be around for many more years. With the housing downturn that started in 2005 you had to worry about pretty much every builder having financial troubles, but Shea is spread out among so many different communities it looks like they were able to make it through the tough times.

It is also worth noting that Shea is a privately held business. I think they are still owned by the Shea family. It seems funny to call them a family owned business since they are so huge, but it's true.

Shea has many new home developments currently in Peoria Arizona. Most are located in our Vistancia section. The one development located outside of Vistancia is Mesquite Canyon at Sonoran Mountain Ranch.

Shea has many other developments in the greater Phoenix area, but they are all outside of the city of Peoria so I am not focusing on them here.
